After Dhruva Natchathiram, Vikram's Thangalaan to be delayed? Here's what we know

Thangalaan is based on a few real-life incidents that happened in Kolar Gold Fields. It is reportedly set against the backdrop of early 19th century mining.

Thangalaan, Vikram’s upcoming Tamil film with director Pa Ranjith, was supposed to hit the theatres worldwide on January 26. However, according to the latest buzz, the movie's release has been postponed to another date and will possibly be released in the summer of next year. While the official confirmation in this regard is still awaited, it remains to be seen what the real reason is behind the reported delay in the film's release.

Has Thangalaan been delayed? 

The film is based on a few real-life incidents that happened in Kolar Gold Fields. It is reportedly set against the backdrop of early 19th century mining. The promotional material, including the teaser, posters and Vikram's never-seen-before look released by the team until now has been well-received by the audience. However, it seems like fans will have to wait a little longer to see Vikram on the big screens in Thangalaan as the film has been delayed due to yet unknown reasons.

Thangalaan is directed by Pa Ranjith, known for blockbusters such as Madras, Kabali, Kaala and Sarpatta Parambarai. The film also stars actors Malavika Mohanan and Parvathy Thiruvothu in pivotal roles.

Vikram's Dhruva Natchathiram indefinitely delayed

Vikram most recently featured in Mani Ratnam’s two-part magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan. He will next be seen in action spy film Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One – Yuddha Kaandam. The spy actioner was set to arrive in theatres on November 24. It has been in production since 2018. Director Gautham Menon has delayed the film indefinitely but has promised a big screen experience like never before. The film also stars Ritu Varma, Parthiban, Aishwarya Rajesh, Simran, Radhika, Arjun Das and Divyadarshini.
