AR Rahman also revealed the reason behind his reunion with the superstar and filmmaker. He said it was to celebrate the kind reception of the sports drama in the Tamil film industry.

Lal Salaam is a sports drama directed by Rajinikanth's daughter Aishwarya. The film release around Sankranthi and is said to be doing good at the box office. Apart from starring actors Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth, the film also features superstar Rajinikanth in a special cameo appearance. He plays the role of Moideen bhai in the film. The film is claimed to be doing good at the box office by the makers, however it opened to mixed reviews.
