Chiyaan Vikram starrer Dhruva Natchathiram to be postponed yet again due to financial issues?

Gautham Vasudev Menon’s upcoming film Dhruva Natchathiram, which stars Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role, has undergone financial setbacks at various stages of its production. And now, finally 4 days before it’s release, rumours are abuzz that Dhruva Natchathiram’s released might be postponed yet again. 

The film, after being in the shooting stage for over 6 years, was finally completed earlier this year in February. However, director Gautham Vasudev Menon was reporting having a lot of trouble to get enough finances to get a proper release for the film. The Kaakha Kaakha filmmaker eventually found a way to resolve his problem, but it seems the problem has come back to bite the filmmaker.

If some of the media reports are to be believed, Menon decided to request financers for a 50 crore loan to release the film, hoping that once his film gets a release date and the buzz gets going, the filmmaker will recover the loan amount from selling the streaming rights for his film.

However, the filmmaker is rumouredly still in the middle of negotiations with several streaming platforms for his film’s streaming rights, and no deal has been struck yet.

Dhruva Natchathiram is a two-part film series

Dhruva Natchathiram is a two-part spy thriller saga that is shot in 7 countries all over the globe. The film that is currently scheduled to release on November 24 is the first instalment of the story, titled ‘Chapter One: Yuddh Kaandam’ with the title of the second part yet to be announced. Gautham Vasudev Menon was earlier planning to make the spy thriller with his Kaakha Kaakha actor Suriya. However, after a few months, Menon shelved the project citing ‘creative differences’ as the official reason, and eventually restarted the project with Vikram a few years later.

Besides Vikram, Dhruva Natchathiram features actors like Ritu Varma, Simran, R. Parthiban and Radhika Sarathkumar.
