Coolie: Aamir Khan To Start Shooting For Rajinikanth Starrer From THIS Date

Aamir Khan is all set to join the pan-India bandwagon with his upcoming project. The Bollywood superstar, will be seen in Sitaare Zameen Par. Lokesh is currently busy with the shoot of Coolie, starring Rajinikanth, and also has Kaithi 2 lined up. But it seems like he is being considered for another project, marking his first collaboration with Aamir Khan.

Aamir to soon begin filming for Coolie?

According to a report in Sacnilk, a unique character Lokesh has thoughtfully been crafted just for Aamir. He has a brief but powerful sequence with Thalaivar, promising a memorable, mass-appealing moment for audiences while simultaneously elevating the film Coolie's narrative. Reportedly, Aamir has allotted his dates for this thrilling cameo and is expected to shoot for the same in the next schedule, starting on October 15 in Chennai. This marks Aamir's first collab with Lokesh and the reports say the duo will do a full-fledged movie soon.

For the unversed, Aamir Khan will appear alongside the superstar Rajinikanth on screen after three decades. The duo was last seen together in the 1995 movie Aatank Hi Aatank, where Juhi Chawla was also a part of the cast. Coolie is an Tamil action thriller, which also has cast including Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and others.

Interestingly, Aamir has worked with a South director in the past. One of the biggest hits of his career, Ghajini (2008), was directed by AR Murugadoss. Lokesh, meanwhile, has collaborated with Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt in his last directorial Leo, which was a huge hit.

What’s next for Aamir Khan?

Aamir Khan's upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, wrapped up shoot in June, earlier this year. This film will also mark Aamir's return to the silver screen after 2022's Laal Singh Chaddha. 

Recently, the Dhoom 3 star co-produced Laapataa Ladies with its director and his former wife Kiran Rao. His next production is Rajkumar Santoshi's Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol and  Preity Zinta .
