In celebration of Ilaiyaraaja’s 81st birthday on June 2, Dhanush treated fans to a glimpse of the biopic.

Dhanush drops first poster of Ilaiyaraaja’s biopic

To mark the special occasion, Dhanush shared a new poster dedicated to the music maestro. Early on June 2, he posted a vibrant image on his social media platform X, with the caption, “Happy birthday to the one and only @ilaiyaraaja sir.” The poster depicts Dhanush standing before a large crowd, accompanied by his harmonium and band.

The film's official creators also shared the same poster on their X platform, captioning it, “Happy Birthday to the one and only music maestro Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja.”

What more do we know about Ilaiyaraaja’s biopic?

So far, Dhanush is the only confirmed lead in the film. This project marks his second collaboration with director Arun Matheswaran, following their work on Captain Miller. The biopic is funded by a joint partnership between Connekkt Media, Mercuri Movies, and PK Prime Production. According to Pinkvilla, Ilaiyaraaja is expected to compose the soundtrack for the film. While formal confirmation is still pending, reports suggest that the biopic will highlight the maestro's achievements, including his receipt of the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award. The film will be released in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
