Thug Life, headlined by Kamal Haasan is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film went on floors in January earlier this year. It was earlier reported that Dulquer Salmaan and Jayam Ravi would play pivotal roles in the movie, but exited the movie. However, Jayam Ravi has now opened up about missing the chance of working with Kamal Haasan.
Jayam Ravi: I was not able to do for some reason
In a media interaction, Jayam Ravi revealed the how he became an assistant director to gain firsthand experience in how Kamal Haasan brought his characters to life. He said, “I didn't join Aalavandhan as an assistant director to learn about filmmaking. I just wanted to watch Kamal sir closely and copy whatever he did. Since no one can copy him, I took a lot of inspiration from him. I'm proud of it”.
He also revealed in the interaction how he continues to regret losing out an opportunity to work with Kamal Haasan in a film. He also shared for some reasons, it couldn’t happen.
Why did Jayam Ravi exit Thug Life?
As per a recent India Glitz report, Jayam Ravi walked out of Thug Life. The reason behind the same was the actor not being able to adjust his dates between the Kamal Haasan's film and his other prior commitments.

A potential reason behind the alleged date scheduling issues could very well be the unforeseen delay of the film's Serbian schedule. The delay in question occurred owing to Kamal Haasan shuffling between commitments for Kalki 2898 AD and Indian 2, in congruence with his political responsibilities owing to the Lok Sabha elections.
The remaining cast is still associated with the film, besides Kamal Haasan, it includes Trisha Krishnan, Gautham Karthik, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Joju George. Interestingly, Thug Life has been in the news owing to the film marking a professional reunion between Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after a gap of 36 years - their last film together having been 1987 release Nayakan.
