The makers of Raghu Thatha, starring Keerthy Suresh, have announced the release date of the movie. Helmed by Suman Kumar, the movie is a comedy caper, co-starring MS Bashkar, Ravindra Vijay, Devadarshini, Rajesh Balachandiran and Rajeev Ravindranathan, among others.

Raghu Thatha to clash with Pushpa 2?

Taking to her Instagram handle, Keerthy Suresh shared a new movie poster and announced that it will release on August 15, coinciding with Independence Day. The Tamil-language drama will clash with Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's pan-India starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule. Sharing the poster, Keerthy wrote in the caption, "RaghuThatha, Kayalvizhi’s heart-warming adventure is coming to a theatre near you. Get ready for a hilarious, emotional and empowering rollercoaster ride! #RaghuThatha releases on 15th August 2024. Mark your calendars and spread the word!"

Pushpa 2 is a Telugu-language drama which will also release in Tamil cities. Owing to this, Allu Arjun starrer might affect the business of Raghu Thatha.

What else do we know about Raghu Thatha?

In December, the makers unveiled the first look of the movie, offering a glimpse into the movie. They shared a 20-second clip designed around the visuals of an old-fashioned movie promotion where a bunch of people stroll around the market, announcing details and inviting everyone to watch the film with their friends and family. The film's title, Raghu Thatha, is inspired by the popular comedy sequence from Bhagyaraj’s Indru Poi Naalai Vaa. The movie is touted to be the hilarious story of a rebellious young woman, Kayalvizhi, who is forced to choose between principle and patriarchy.

Apart from Raghu Thatha, Keerthy Suresh also has Baby John, co-starring Varun Dhawan. The movie is slated to release in June.
