Raayan BO Collection Day 5: Dhanush Starrer Surpasses ₹50 Crore Mark Amid Actor's Dispute With TFPC

Dhanush starrer Raayan had an overall 22.48 per cent Tamil occupancy on Tuesday with the maximum reported in Pondicherry (44.50 per cent).

Dhanush starrer Raayan might have witnessed a drop on Monday but was able to enter ₹50 crore even before the first week concluded. The movie opened at ₹13.65 crore, becoming the biggest opener of his career. Over the weekend, the movie witnessed an upward trend at the domestic box office. However, on Monday, the earnings dropped majorly to ₹5.8 crore with ₹4.75 crore collected in Tamil language.

Marking Dhanush's second directorial, the movie minted ₹4.50 crore on Tuesday in India, according to early estimates reported by Sacnilk. Adding the fifth-day collection, the movie surpassed ₹50 crore mark even before the first week concluded. Yes, the total stands at ₹52.95 crore. Raayan had an overall 22.48 per cent Tamil occupancy on Tuesday with the maximum reported in Pondicherry (44.50 per cent).

This has come amid, the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) asked all the producers to ask them first before approaching Dhanush for a new movie.

TFPC announced a temporary ban on the commencement of new projects

A meeting was held in Chennai, Tamil Producers body announced to temporarily halt the commencement of all new movie projects from August 16 and halt all film-related activities from November 1. During the meeting, Dhanush's name cropped up, where a production company, Sri Thenandal Films, claimed that the actor had taken advance from them and never came to shoot the movie.

Owing to this, now council has asked all the producers to approach them before roping the actor in any new project. Sri Thenandal Films in their statement wrote, "In the situation where Dhanush has received advance payments from several producers, the producers are requested to consult the Tamil Film Producers Association before starting work on new films starring actor Dhanush.”
