Rajinikanth Hospitalised: Medical Bulletin Confirms Heart Health Issue, Discharge Details Out
Rajinikanth was hospitalised in Chennai on September 30. A non-surgical, transcatheter method was performed to treat his cardiac health.
Veteran actor Rajinikanth was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai late on Monday. According to a bulletin issued by the Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, the 73-year-old star is stable and doing well. He is likely to be discharged in two days, which means that the trailer launch event of his upcoming film Vettaiyan, planned for October 2, will happen without him.
Hospital confirms non-surgical procedure performed on Rajinikanth
According to the medical bulletin, "Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, on 30th September 2024. He had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (Aorta), which was treated by a non-surgical, transcatheter method. Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr Sai Satish placed a stent in the aorta completely sealing off the swelling (Endovascular Repair). We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went, as planned. Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be home in two days."
Rajnikanth's upcoming projects
Rajinikanth has two highly anticipated movies lined up for release. Vettaiyan, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan , Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati and Manju Warrier, will release on October 10. The Jailer star is also shooting for Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. It is his 171st film. Anirudh Ravichander will compose music for the upcoming film which will have stunts by action choreographer duo Anbumani and Arivumani, popularly known as Anbariv.
Rajinikanth was most recently seen in Lal Salaam, directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth. Shooting for the film has already begun. Nagarjuna is reportedly playing the villain in Coolie.
