Vettaiyan Advanced Booking Collection: Rajinikanth Starrer Fails To Surpass Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT

Vettaiyan Advanced Booking: The Rajinikanth starrer will hit the big screens on October 10 ahead of the Dusshera holiday on October 12. The film features Thaliavar in the lead role as a cop and is directed by TJ Gnanavel. The advanced booking for Vettaiyan Day 1 opened recently, and fans have been flocking to sites to get their hands on the first tickets for the movie. With a massive star cast and the festive spirit in place, the movie is expected to open to a decent collection and rake in blockbuster numbers. 

How much is the Vettaiyan collection in advanced booking?

Vettaiyan has registered a steady pace in the advanced booking space. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages with Tamil dominating the business currently. However, the film also features veteran Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan which may tip the scales in the favour of the Hindi version a little bit. 

As per a report in Sacnilk, the Rajinikanth movie has raked in ₹10.96 Cr in advanced bookings collections in India. At the time of publishing the site mentioned that 559133 tickets for the film were sold. With an anticipation actor-director combo and holidays owing to the festival, the film's collections are expected to grow.

Vettaiyan will have to surpass GOAT to become the highest Tamil grosser of the year 

Currently, Thalapathy Vijay's latest release Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) holds the spot for the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year. As per Sacnilk, the movie, directed by Lokesh Kanagraj, raked in ₹295.13 Cr in India. The film's advanced booking collection looks better than Vettaiyan as of now.

The Thalapathy Vijay Starrer minted ₹24.5 crore in advanced booking, which is more than double that of Vettaiyan. The film opened to a ₹52 Cr in India on September 5. Rajinikanth starrer will have to surpass these collections to become the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year. Vettaiyan also stars Amitabh Bachchan , Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati and Manju Warrier.
