Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan released in cinema halls on October 10, ahead of Dussehra. The planned festive release of the movie might work in its favour if word of mouth is good. The TJ Gnanavel directorial has received a mixed response on social media, with many calling it a treat for Rajinikanth fans while others dubbing it as an underwhelming experience. The coming days will give a better idea about how the movie fares among the audiences as Jailer, the Tamil star's last release, was a huge hit and earned ₹600 crore plus gross worldwide.
