Vijay Sethupathi starrer Viduthalai Part 2 to premiere at Rotterdam Film Festival

Vetrimaaran’s Viduthalai 2, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Soori, will debut in theatres sometime next year. Ahead of its release, the film has been selected for premiere at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. It will take place between January 25-February 4, 2024, in the Netherlands.
Viduthalai: Part 2 to screen under the limelight category
The production banner of Viduthalai: Part 2 announced the film’s premiere at IFFR 2024 on Tuesday, December 26. The caption read, “#Viduthalai Part 1 & 2 has been selected for the Rotterdam Film Festival under the limelight category! Grand Premiere at @IFFR a cinematic experience like no other! #ViduthalaiFilm #IFFR2023.”
Viduthalai: Part 1, which is set in the late 1980s, discusses the popular uprising against the oppression of the poor. Soori portrays a newly hired police officer and Vijay Sethupathi is seen as the leader of a revolutionary movement. Part 2 will pick up from the end of the first movie. Both films are based on the short novel Thunaivan by renowned Tamil author Jeyamohan.
What do we know about Viduthalai: Part 2?
Along with Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, Ilavarasu, Tamizh, Chetan, and other important characters, Soori and Vijay Sethupathi will be reprising their roles in Viduthalai: Part 2. Beginning with Manju Warrier and Prakash Raj, who are reuniting with Vetri Maaran after Asuran (2019), the upcoming movie will pick up where the events of Part 1 left off.
Surya Vijay Sethupathi, the son of Vijay Sethupathi, is also reportedly cast in a significant role. 'Isaignani' Ilaiyaraaja will once more provide the music for Viduthalai: Part 2.
