Kamal Haasan’s iconic film Vikram has celebrated over three decades since its release, marking its 38th anniversary. The original Vikram, released in 1986, was a trailblazer for spy thrillers in Tamil cinema. To commemorate this milestone, the production house shared a captivating video on their social media handles on May 29, featuring intense action sequences and highlighting Sathyaraj's powerful villainous role.
The video also includes the original Vikram theme, which was later reimagined by Anirudh Ravichander for Lokesh Kangaraj’s 2022 film starring Kamal Haasan.
Directed by Rajasekhar and written by Kamal Haasan and Sujatha, Vikram follows Arun Kumar Vikram, a Black Ops Squad Commander tasked by RAW to thwart a national terrorist threat. The film boasts an ensemble cast including Sathyaraj, Amjad Khan, Lissy, Dimple Kapadia, Charuhasan, and Janagaraj. Notably, it was the first Indian film to use a computer for recording songs.
In other news, Kamal Haasan is preparing for the release of his highly anticipated sequel, Indian 2, directed by S. Shankar, featuring Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, SJ Suryah, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Bobby Simha. The film is scheduled to premiere on July 12. Additionally, Haasan is working on Mani Ratnam’s upcoming movie Thug Life.
