During an interview with TellyChakkar, Ankit Gupta clarified that he is not engaged. He also showed his hand and said that there was no ring. The actor further shared that they are just "very good friends" and the actress is the happiest when she meets him. "Priyanka is the happiest when I am around her." He stated that it has been three years they are clarifying that they are just friends.

How did the engagement rumours begin?

The engagement rumours began in June this year when Priyanka Chahar Choudhary took to social media and shared a photo wherein she is seen flaunting a diamond ring. The caption read, "It’s a Yes! A million times yes for this dreamy diamond ring."

What captured everyone's attention was Ankit and Priyanka's close friends dropping quirky yet cute on the post. Vikas Manaktala wrote, "To phir baat badayen aage?? Band baja lekar? 😜 @6_ankitgupta ??" The duo's Udaariyaan co-star Abhishek Kumar penned, "Ye to hona hi tha 😛😛 Kabhi na kabhi." While Rajiv Adatia wrote, "It’s time!!! 💍 im ready to marry you both!," the actress' manager Gunjan Manaktala penned, "Woooohooooo❤️🙌🧿💍". These comments fuelled the rumours.

Ankit Gupta reflects on the bond he shares with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Ankit Gupta opened up on how important Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and his bond is to him. The two met on the sets of their rather successful television show Udaariyaan. The two have been repeatedly romantically linked over the years, owing to their strong chemistry and candor. However, despite all speculations, both Ankit and Priyanka have always maintained that they are just friends.

Ankit shared how even though they are no longer working together, their bond has just gotten better. Referring to their bond as special, he also expressed how glad he is that Priyanka is a part of his life. He said, "Bond with Priyanka has only gotten better. We have evolved. For any connection to prosper, efforts are required. I just hope, may no one's evil eye affect this bond. She is a wonderful person and I am glad that she's a part of my life."
