Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya recently faced criticism from some internet users after she posted a video of herself practising martial arts moves. The actress, known for her roles in various TV shows, including Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, addressed the trolls.
Why was Divyanka Tripathi trolled?
Divyanka Tripathi recently shared a video wherein she is seen performing martial arts. The video didn't sit right with a section of netizens who asked her to leave martial artists and "focus on her family." The trolls even asked her to have a baby as she went "beyond the right age" to "start a family".
How did Divyanka Tripathi react to the criticism?
In response to the criticism, Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya penned a befitting comment addressing the trolls who chose criticism over encouragement. She highlighted two categories of critics – some men who deemed action as their exclusive domain and opted for brutal criticism, and some women who were more focused on advising her to have a baby than appreciating her pursuits.
In her comment, Dahiya acknowledged a group of individuals who appreciated and suggested logically. She congratulated this "beautiful mixed lot" for possessing an "evolved mind, a warm heart, and good upbringing".

The caption read, "Do prakar ke trollers hain is post par- 1) Some Men who feel action is their exclusive zone so they choose to brutally criticise instead of motivating. 2) Some Women clearly obsessed about me having a baby more than my family. Then there is You - a beautiful mixed lot that is seeing beauty in efforts. You appreciate, suggest logically and politeness doesn't leave your side. I congratulate you for having an evolved mind, a warm heart and a good upbringing.”
Following the trolls and criticism, she decided to update the caption on her video, adding a disclaimer. The revised caption now reads, "(Disclaimer: These moves are far from perfection...yet I felt like sharing the process instead of just the end result that social media is popular for). In the imperfect body and perfection-seeking world that I live in, I have realised that persistence & having an indefatigable spirit overshadows the so-called talent. Don't have it? Don't judge yourself. Persevere!"
