Nia Sharma opens up about doing intimate scenes onscreen, reveals what worries her

Nia Sharma mentioned that she has been trying to shatter her ideal bahu image onscreen. After doing several TV shows, she ventured into OTT, in which she did several intimate scenes. The actress has now opened up about her experience of doing steamy scenes in web series and how they were executed.

Nia Sharma reveals if she is comfortable doing intimate scenes

When asked about her comfort level during intimate scenes onscreen, the Naagin actress stated that she never really felt uncomfortable because everything becomes "mechanical" in front of the camera. She said that actors are often preoccupied with various aspects, leaving little room to truly feel anything in those moments.

"Honestly, it’s so mechanical on camera. Most of the times, when I have smooched somebody in a web series or something, my entire lipstick was there. I was looking like a monkey, like a chimpanzee after the scene. Toh usme aapko kaha itna time mil raha hai to feel something or anything," she said in an interview with Bollywood Bubble. 

Nia Sharma recalls an incident while filming an intimate scene

Opening up about intimate scenes are executed onscreen, Nia Sharma said that most of the time, her focus during passionate scenes was on how she looks. She humorously recalled instances where her lipstick would get smudged, making her feel like she resembled a monkey or a chimpanzee. The actress used this anecdote to illustrate that the entire process of filming intimate scenes is quite "conscious and analytical", with concerns about appearance and not appearing vulgar taking precedence.

Nia also delved into the underlying consciousness actors have during such scenes. She explained that they are always aware of how their actions are being portrayed and if the scene appears cheap or vulgar. The actor said this consciousness prevents them from genuinely feeling uncomfortable, as they are preoccupied with ensuring that the scenes are executed correctly and appropriately.
