Producer confirms creative differences with Harshad Chopda during Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai shoot

Since its 2009 Star Plus debut, Rajan Shahi's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has seen ground-breaking success in Indian television history. This hugely successful family drama has gained attention as it gets closer to its 15th anniversary next month after it was discovered that there has been a fourth-generation jump.

For those who are not aware, Shehzada Dhami and Samridhii Shukla took over the lead roles in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai recently, replacing Pranali Rathod and Harshad Chopda. The rise in this week's ratings indicates that YRKKH's new cast is finally being accepted by the audience. 

Amid everything, there were whispers that Harshad Chopda left Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai due to a disagreement with Rajan Shahi. Though Harshad has never discussed it publicly, Shahi recently broke his silence and "confirmed" that they don't get along creatively.

Rajan Shahi on his conflict with Harshad Chopda 

In a conversation with TellyChakkar, Rajan confirmed while there were creative differences between him and Harshad, they have never fought. The producer acknowledged that he and the actor did not share the same creative vision but they were professional about it. He added that the stories about the problems with Harshad and Pranali were heavily embellished in an attempt to generate publicity.

Rajan said, "Creative differences the Harshad se, kuch baateon mei. But wo har bande ko, director ko bolta hai 'Sir, mai iss scene se convinced nahi hun.' Wo toh hota hi hai na. (There were creative differences with Harshad but that’s everywhere. Every actor says to his director that he is not convinced with the scene. That happens.)"

Rajan said that Harshad had also sent his best wishes and that Pranali had come to support the younger generation on the show. He continued by saying that after the actor recently won an award, he had written him a lengthy message. 

The producer added that he first called Harshad after returning from the Mahabaleshwar shoot of the new generation, and they had a long conversation. According to Rajan Shahi, he even expressed to Harshad his desire to work on a series with him in the future.
