Death rumours of popular TV actor Deven Bhojani, known for his roles in comedy shows like Office Office; Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai; Baa, Bahoo Aur Baby and many more, were rife on social media on Monday, July 22. It all started with an X user writing in a post, "He made us laugh and such a cute soul. Rest in peace" while commenting on a news article online. However, the truth quickly found its way online.
After an X user mourned the death of Deven Bhojani, the actor was quick to quash the viral rumours of his demise. In his inimitable style, Bhojani wrote on social media, "Hello! Hello! Hello! Just a few days back, when global tech giant Microsoft suffered an outage, a flurry of memes surfaced on social media and brought back Bhojani in the news.
Deven played the role of self-proclaimed tech expert Dushyant in Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai. After Microsoft servers crashed on July 19 causing a global tech outage, many memes referencing Bhojani were shared by the fans of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai. The actor also posted some of the memes on his Instagram handle and followed it up with several interviews in which he thanked fans for remembering him, so many years after he played the character.
Deven Bhojani started his career in TV with Shankar Nag’s Malgudi Days in 1987. He featured in a supporting role in Aamir Khan starrer Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (1992). He gained popularity after playing comic roles in Dekh Bhai Dekh, Shrimaan Shrimati, Office Office, Khichdi and Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai.
