Taarak Mehta Ooltah Chashmaah actor Gurucharan Singh, who played the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi, made his first public appearance since he went missing earlier this year. On Saturday, the actor was snapped at Mumbai airport with his pet dog.
In the viral video, Gurucharan remained tight-lipped about his missing issue and opened up about the dues. In the video, a paparazzo asked him if the makers of TMKOC had cleared his dues. To this, the actor replied, "Haan ji, sabka kar diye almost. Almost. Kuch ka mujhe nahi pata hai, woh mujhe puchna padega (Yes, they have cleared almost everyone’s payment. I don’t know about some, that I’ll have to ask)."
There were rumours that the TMKOC star had exited the show due to delays in his payment. So when asked if he would be returning to the show, he replied, "God knows. Rab jane. Mujhe kuch nahi pata hain. Jayse hi pata chalega, aapko bataunga (God knows, I don’t know anything. As soon as I get to know, I will tell you guys).”
He went mission on April 22 this year and returned home after 24 days. He left his home at 8:30 AM on April 22 for the airport to go to Mumbai, but he didn't arrive and his phone was also unreachable and untraceable. After the actor failed to return home as planned, Gurucharan's family swiftly registered a missing person complaint. Following the complaint, the police registered a case under Section 365 of the IPC. According to the police, CCTV footage has come to light where Singh was seen walking by himself, carrying a backpack.
On May 17, he returned to his Delhi home and when Delhi Police interrogated him about his whereabouts, the actor revealed that he had left home to be on a religious journey. However, he later realised that he should return home.
