Well, that is a different subject, however, his journey up to the top was not always a bed of roses for him. Not many know that he ran away to Mumbai in the dream of becoming an actor. I feared being judged: Abhishek Kumar

The actor recently appeared on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa's podcast where he talked in length about his struggles. He recalled an incident where he was touched inappropriately. "I came to Mumbai in 2018. I am a mechanical engineer and I had lied to my family that I was in Delhi for six months, but I came to Mumbai," he said. Elaborating on why he lied, the actor shared that when he expressed his wish to be an actor to his father, he beat him. Owing to this, he lied to his family.

Recalling meeting a gay person, he said, "He behaved with me inappropriately, I was really scared and I ran back to my home. I looked at myself in the mirror to realise what had happened and the first thing I did was book my tickets back. That too in a general compartment."

The actor added that when he went there, that person was acting as if he would sign him for the show. He wondered how they selected him as he gave a bad audition. "At first, I thought, would it be because of the looks but all of that was a fake setting. There was no audition happening for a genuine show," he continued.

This put him in a situation where he felt "suicidal". He didn't know with whom to share his ordeal as he feared being judged. So he called his mother and told her everything.
