SS Rajamouli is hard at work with his upcoming film starring Mahesh Babu, tentatively titled SSMB29. The new project is pegged to put the Guntur Kaaram star on the pan-India map. While there are lot of expectations from the movie, details of the plot are scarce. All Rajamouli has teased till now is that SSMB29 will be an action-adventure movie set in a jungle. The movie has not gone on the floors yet but reports doing the rounds have suggested the release timeline of the film.

Rajamouli knee-deep in pre-production of SSMB29

SS Rajamouli is known to meticulously prep for his projects before taking them to the floors. It will be no different for SSMB29. The pre-production has been ongoing since long and this year Mahesh Babu has been doing workshops to get into the skin of the character. Reportedly, he will also go body transformation for his role in it and some pictures of the Telugu star hint that he has been working towards it.

According to a report in 123 Telugu, the Baahubali director is spending more time in pre-production this time and when that is complete, the shoot will not be delayed. According to the latest update, the Mahesh Babu film will be out in the first quarter of 2027, and plans are being made for the same.  

Rajamouli's next to take five years to release?

Interesting thing is that the time between Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017) and RRR (2022) release was five years. If reports about SSMB29 releasing in 2027 are indeed true, it will put another 5 years between RRR and the former release. MM Keeravani will compose the music for this film, which will be produced by KL Narayana. Mahesh Babu is also reportedly one of the producers of the film.
