Bollywood Can't Afford Mahesh Babu? Actor Trolled For Old Remarks As He Attends Ambanis' Wedding

Mahesh Babu recently attended Mukesh Ambani's younger son Anant Ambani's wedding to Radhika Merchant in Mumbai on July 12. He was accompanied by his wife Namrata Shirodkar and daughter Sitara. Soon after his photos from the wedding created a heavy buzz on the Internet. While his fans were overjoyed to see him attending a private event, a section of the Internet dug out his old statement on Bollywood and started trolling him.

Mahesh Babu trolled for his old comment on Bollywood

The Guntur Kaaram actor's recent appearance has triggered a debate on the Internet. First let us tell you, why Mahesh Babu is being trolled. In 2022, in an interview, Mahesh Babu was asked about his Bollywood plans to which he replied, "Bollywood can’t afford me, don’t want to waste my time.” This statement hurt the sentiments of the fans in the north.

Highlighting his statement an X user created a Before and After meme with the caption, "From being unaffordable to affordable, his journey is inspiring." It was followed by another post by the user, “He thought Bollywood is dead and finished. Everyone is mocking Bollywood so isne socha ki main bhi pel deta hu but next year in 2023 Bollywood bounced back with so many blockbusters. Ab iska ghamand toot gaya.”

Soon after his ardent fans came out in support of Mahesh Babu and questioned that Ambanis' events have nothing to do with Bollywood and that the actor shares a great bond with the Bollywood stars.

There was a fan, who dug out a major throwback photo of Nita Ambani meeting Mahesh Babu and Nagarjuna's families in Hyderabad. "They are family friends since decade. When Nita Ambani comes to hyd she always meet Mahesh and Nagarjuna family. Yousta Reliance showroom opened by Mahesh Babu. India's first swadesh Handicraft showroom from Reliance opened by Nitu Ambani and attended by Namrata in Hyderabad," read the caption.

Others defended him by saying that his quotes were misinterpreted and he was not being rude.

What's next for Mahesh Babu?

Meanwhile, the actor has reportedly started the shooting of his next untitled movie helmed by SS Rajamouli. The movie is expected to hit the theatres in 2025.
