Jani Master Rape Case: Stree 2 Choreographer Confesses To Sexually Assaulting Minor, Say Reports

Jani Master, a veteran choreographer, has been accused of sexual harassment by a junior female choreographer. Jani was arrested in Goa on Thursday from where he was brought to Hyderabad early Friday. In Hyderabad, he was grilled by Cyberabad police. Following this, he was taken to Upparpally court and was remanded to 14-day judicial custody. In the latest development, the 42-year-old choreographer has reportedly confessed to the crime.

The report of remand reveals startling details

According to a remand report shared by Great Andhra, the victim has known Jani Master since 2019. The incident happened in 2020 when the victim was travelling with the choreographer as his assistant regarding the projects. She was sexually assaulted in a hotel in Mumbai. At the time of the assault, she was only 16-year-old and their acquaintance reportedly lasted for over four years. During this time, Jani reportedly assaulted her multiple times and even threatened her not to disclose the incident. The remand also reportedly revealed that not just Jani but also his wife threatened the victim.

The remand further notes that Jani used his influence to tamper victim's career and prevent opportunities from coming her way.

Jani Master's bail chances are slim: Police

According to a report in Great Andhra, a senior official said that the police are likely to file a custody petition in a few days and the chances of the choreographer's bail are slim. “The case is solid, and the chances of bail are minimal. We are currently discussing the application for his custody to facilitate further questioning regarding the allegations made against him,” Great Andhra quoted the official saying.

Jani Master, who is in Charlapalli Central Jail, has been charged under IPC Sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 323(2), along with the POCSO Act.
