Hyderabad witnessed heavy rainfall on Sunday night disrupting the screening of the hit movie Kalki 2898 AD. Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer, that released on June 27, is enjoying a great run at the domestic box office. It has so far crossed the Rs 600 crore mark in India for all languages.
According to a report in M9.news, the screening was paused due to water leaking into the cinema hall. The cinemagoers shared their ordeal and said that water started seeping into the theatres, causing panic among the individuals present in the theatres. They also expressed safety concerns questioning the management's accountability in case of a potential accident to short-circuit. The situation reportedly intensified when the PVR management asked the cinemagoers to leave, prompting them to contact the police.
An X user shared several videos and penned a long note, sharing the ordeal, "Heavy rain in Panjagutta, Hyderabad caused water leakage in PVR Mall's cinema theatre, disrupting movie screenings. Despite the leak, the management continued to show the film, sparking a heated argument between the audience and theatre owners. Concerned about the risk of circuits and accidents, the audience demanded to know who would be held responsible." The user added, " The management responded dismissively, prompting the audience to contact the police. The incident highlights the importance of prioritizing safety over entertainment."
