Nagarjuna vs Konda Surekha: The Congress minister stoked controversy with her remark on the divorce of Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya. In a media statement, the Telangana minister Konda Surekha implied that her political rival KTR was the reason behind the Tollywood souple's divorce. Both the actors Samantha and Chaitanya replied to the minister with strong and lengthy statements. In response, Chay's father and superstar Nagarjuna slapped a ₹100 crore defamation case against the minister.

Nagarjuna's statement against Konda Surekha out 

Nagarjuna, along with his wife Amala, arrived at the court on October 8 to record his statement in the defamation case. Nagarjuna reached the court at Namopally with his family Tuesday afternoon. Nagarjuna in his statement said that the accused, "Konda Surekha made a defamatory statement concerning my family and me. I was shocked to see video clips of the defamatory statement being widely circulated on various social media platforms."
 

He elaborated, “I have suffered disrepute and emotional distress due to the false imputation spread by the accused. Such false imputation constitutes an act of criminal defamation causing harm to both personal and professional aspects of my life and my entire family. Hence I pray that the court may be pleased to take cognisance of the offence and punish the accused as per law for committing the offence of criminal defamation."

Samantha- Naga Chaitanya caught in political crossfires

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya along with all other big wigs of the Telugu film industry issued statements slamming the Congress minister for her distasteful remarks. As a consequence, Konda Surekha withdrew her statements and apologised to the Citadel Hunny Bunny star. She wrote on her X (formerly Twitter) handle, "My comments are meant to question a leader's belittling of women and not to hurt your @Samanthaprabhu2 sentiments. The way you have grown up with self-power is not only an admiration for me.. but also an ideal. (sic)" In another post, she wrote, “If you or your fans are offended by my comments, I unconditionally retract my comments. Don't think otherwise.”

Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu had a lavish wedding in 2017, but four years later, the former couple informed their fans about their divorce. Chay is now engaged to actress Sobhita Dhulipala.
