Nani Reveals He Loved Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast Despite Box Office Failure: He Looked Cool In Film

Telugu star Nani is currently gearing up for his upcoming action film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. The actor never shies away from voicing his opinions. Recently, he expressed his views about Thalapathy Vijay’s film Beast, saying he liked it despite it being a commercial failure.

In an interview with Suhasini in Tamil, Nani said he loved the film Beast despite earning low figures at the box office. He also stated that Vijay looked cool in it as a RAW agent and the action in the film was great. Unfortunately, fans' expectations were something else.

How did Beast perform at the box office?

Helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, the film stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead Selvaraghavan, Redin Kingsley, Bjorn Surrao, VTV Ganesh, Aparna Das, Shine Tom Chacko and others. According to a report in Sacnilk, the film earned in India net ₹130.25 crore and ₹216.58 crore worldwide. Despite much hype around the film prior to its release, with catchy songs including Arabic Kuthu, the film couldn’t garner much numbers at the box office.

What’s next for Nani?

Nani will next be seen in Saripodha Sanivaaram. Directed by Vivek Athreya, the vigilante action thriller is said to be Nani's most expensive film with a budget of ₹90 crore. The film also stars SJ Suryah, Priyanka Mohan, Abhirami, Aditi Balan, P. Sai Kumar and Subhalekha Sudhakar.

The movie continues the collaboration between Nani and director Vivek Athreya, who previously worked together on Ante Sundariniki. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram will be available in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. The makers recently released a new poster which features Nani and SJ Suryah in a dramatic face-off. This has excited fans.

The story follows Surya, who fights against injustice on Saturday and locks horns with corrupt Inspector R Dayanand, who brutally attacks innocent people for petty reasons. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on August 29. It is titled Surya's Saturday in Hindi.
