Pushpa 2 to continue Pushpa Raj’s story

The sequel follows the success of the first part of the franchise, Pushpa: The Rise was released in the thick of the third wave of the pandemic. The film emerged as a blockbuster at the time when civil restrictions were tightened and cinema halls across India were majorly closed.

Pushpa: The Rise created a historic wave at the box office and was the turnaround film after the pandemic which got audiences back to the theatres. It depicted the rise of coolie Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun) in the smuggling syndicate of red sandalwood, that grows only in the Seshachalam Hills of Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh.

Allu Arjun’s portrayal of Pushparaj went on to become one of the most lovable characters in Indian cinema. Now, Pushpa: The Rule will release on cinema screens worldwide in a multitude of languages. The first look poster of the actor from the sequel was unveiled by the makers earlier in August.

Directed by Sukumar, and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in major roles and has music by the National Award-winning composer Devi Sri Prasad.
