Ram Charan reflects on stardom post RRR, calls it his 'driving force'

RRR's big win at the Oscars this year has brought laurels to director SS Rajamouli and the entire team across the globe. MM Keeravani's peppy track Naatu Naatu made RRR the first Indian film to win an Academy Award in the category of Best Original Song. The film made history by bagging wins across three major awards including the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards. Jr NTR and Ram Charan are featured in the lead of the patriotic drama. Ram Charan has now shared his view on the spike in his stardom he received after RRR.

Ram Charan reveals his thoughts on stardom

In the film, Ram Charan plays the role of Alluri Sitarama Raju. Speaking with Forbes India, the actor said, “Stardom pushes you to do better work every day. It's my driving force. Sometimes, it's a burden, but, very quickly, I turn it around and make it my strength.”

Ram Charan who is also the son of Telugu actor Chiranjeevi further shared that he has always been under pressure as he is from a film family. However, he chooses to be ignorant about all the stress around him. He added that people would have seen it but he never felt it. "Being ignorant was my greatest plus point," he added.

Talking about how he deals with the expectations after the mammoth success of RRR, Ram Charan called it a beautiful responsibility. “It has been fantastic, but it's a beautiful responsibility. And once you taste that, you want to recreate that again and again. And it is so difficult to do that.”

Ram Charan's next film, Game Changer

After the success of RRR, Ram Charan started shooting for Game Changer, helmed by S Shankar. The film has been through multiple bouts of back and forth owing to the director's divided attention between Indian 2 and the Ram Charan starrer.

The latest reports by 123 Telugu suggest that the shooting of the film has resumed in Hyderabad on December 28. Game Changer also featuring Kiara Advani and is reportedly eyeing a 2025 release.
