Salaar Box Office Collection Day 1: Prabhas starrer beats Adipurush to become biggest opener of 2023

After releasing on the big screens on December 22, the Prashanth Neel directorial has made box office history as it registered the biggest opening.

fter a string of less successful ventures, Prabhas has triumphantly returned to the silver screen with Salaar, directed by Prashanth Neel. The much-anticipated film made a historic mark at the global box office by becoming the biggest opener in the history of Indian cinema, leaving behind even the formidable record set by Thalapathy Vijay's Leo.

Salaar, the Prashanth Neel directorial, lived up to its hype by raking in an astounding ₹175 crore gross worldwide on its opening day. This staggering figure not only surpassed the pre-sales records but also dethroned Leo's ₹148.5 crore, setting a new benchmark for Indian cinema.

Domestically, the film collected ₹95 crore on its opening day, as per the early estimates by Sacnilk. The film's early morning shows, starting as early as 12:21 AM, played a pivotal role in its cumulative collection. The film became the biggest opener of 2023 by surpassing Adipurush. As per Sacnilk, the film earned ₹86.75 cr on its first day.

Salaar beats Leo's record for the biggest opening

Earlier this year, Tamil film Leo, starring Thalapathy Vijay set the record for the biggest opening for an Indian film after it minted ₹148.5 crore globally.

With Salaar minting ₹175 on its opening day, it has set the stage for another blockbuster in the making and will also pave the way for Prabhas' comeback at the box office.
