Prashanth Neel is currently basking in the success of his recent outing Salaar. The Prabhas starrer film has scripted history by making more than ₹300 crores at the domestic box office and nearing ₹600 crores in worldwide collections. While the film is being celebrated for its phenomenal success, some alleged that the box office figures presented by the makers are inflated.

Prashanth Neel says people making allegations want to hear more negatives than positives

In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Prashanth Neel opened up about allegations against the makers claiming they inflate box office numbers. He also spoke about the clash of the Prabhas starrer with Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, which was released a day earlier. He mentioned that the audience can see past box office numbers.

The filmmaker asserted, “If this was a solo release, I don’t think this would have come up.” He went on to say that he didn't think the audience was stupid and that they were capable of seeing through such things. He said, “Misrepresentation and all of these things are heresy. You want to hear more negatives than positives.”

In the same conversation, Prashanth Neel rubbished all comparisons between Ugramm and Salaar. The director reasoned, “I told the whole story of Ugramm in 2 hours and 14 minutes. I am making a 6-hour movie (Salaar Part 1 plus Salaar Part 2). I am not going to take Ugramm and put it here. The basic idea; I wanted that emotion for the people to see it on the big screen. That's the only reason I had to do Ugramm. I have many other subjects that I have already narrated and people have liked, but I always wanted to stay with something like this. If that is a negative, that will be a very small section.”
