Prashanth Neel's Salaar is all set to hit the big screens on December 22. After the immense success of the KGF franchise, Prabhas has come onboard Neel's 2-part magnum opus. Since the start, Neel has maintained that Salaar is a story about two friends and unlike anything he has done in the past. In a new interview, he hinted at being unhappy with the film's trailer and revealed why he felt that.

Prashanth Neel says Salaar trailer could not convey the film's idea
The KGF director said, “I have tried drama with this movie. There are several characters in the film other than Prabhas and Prithviraj. Just sticking to the story and not trying unnecessary elevations or a set song coming in somewhere, to try something like that is very new for me. I thought I was not capable of doing something like that even though I told Prabhas since the start that I wanted to try pure drama. For some reason, I did not show that aspect of the film in the trailer. I failed to do that. It probably just looked like a bunch of villains and a big hero who is going to do it. This time I am nervous because I like the film. I liked the story and I that has exactly what has come out.”

Salaar trailer sets the stage for drama of epic proportions
The pre-release trailer of Salaar gives a peek into the world of Khansaar promising adrenaline-boosting action, guns and gore galore. It cuts to the present day as the enemy forces close in on the walled city of Khansaar and that's when Prithviraj's character summons his childhood friend portrayed by Prabhas. Prabhas exudes a raw and macho aura sending his fans into a frenzy. However, as the trailer progresses, the men turn into foes.
Produced by Hombale Films and directed by Prashanth Neel, the film is set to release in more than 5,000 screens across India, in five languages on December 22.
