Salaar's Sriya Reddy pens note for character Radha Rama, thanks Prashanth Neel for crafting the role

Easily one of Sriya Reddy's biggest releases of her career, Salaar features the actress in the role of Radha Rama, whom she has called "incredibly potent".

The makers of Salaar have just seen through the release of arguably one of the biggest films of the year. Salaar: Part One - Ceasefire hit theatres on December 22, opening to stellar box office numbers and gratifying audience reactions. While Prabhas and Prashanth Neel have been at the forefront of accruing the praise for the film, a character that has also grabbed attention in the film has been Radha Rama, essayed by Sriya Reddy post a lengthy acting hiatus.

Sriya Reddy pens note for Radha Rama


Sriya Reddy took to her official X handle to share a note penned by her for the role she essayed in Salaar - that of Radha Rama. Sharing a picture of director Prashanth Neel and her on set, the actress also shed light on how meticulously he had crafted the role, also encouraging her to step out of her comfort zone so that she could commit to the narrative.

Sriya's note read, "Poignant, sharp and with a touch of arrogance, Radha Rama is incredibly potent on screen. I vividly remember our moment on set when you came up to me and said, 'Radha Rama never smiles!' It truly takes someone confident and secure to craft sucha  complex and brilliant character for a woman. Thank you Prashanth, for nudging me out of my comfort zone; Radha Rama is today exactly how she should be, all thanks to your vision."

Sriya Reddy had been on a 8-year long acting break


Sriya Reddy had began her career as a VJ before she started getting film offers. She made her acting debut with 2002 Tamil film Samurai opposite Vikram. This was followed by her Telugu debut Appudappudu in 2003. In 2004 she marked her Malayalam debut opposite Mammootty in Black. She also went onto star in English film 19 Revolutions.

After a string of hit films, Sriya got married to  actor-producer Vikram Krishna, post which she quit acting for a period of eight years. Since 2018, Sriya Reddy has been occasionally appearing in projects, the foremost of which has been Salaar.
