You Thought Milky Beauty Can't Be Shiva Shakti: Tamannaah Bhatia's Stark Reply To Absurd Question On Her Casting In Odela 2

Tamannaah Bhatia is all set to play the role of a Sadhvi in the supernatural thriller Odela 2. Set to hit the big screens on April 7, the movie is directed by Ashok Teja, who along with the other cast members attended a pre-release event of the movie today. During the event, a question directed at Teja caught the attention of the actress who gave a sharp answer to it.

Tamannaah Bhatia shuts down question on her casting in Odela 2 

At the pre-release event of Odela 2, Tamannaah Bhatia addressed the ‘milky white’ label often associated with her. An attendee asked the director Ashok Teja about what made him cast the actress in the role of Shiva Shakti, a Sadhvi, despite the label associated with her. While the question visibly irked her, Tamannaah maintained her calm and spoke about the importance of celebrating glamour.

As per IANS, Tamannaah said, “You are saying milky beauty but why you looked at a milky beauty and thought that she can't be a shiva shakti? Your question has the answer in it. He (Ashok Teja) does not look at milky beauty that is to be ashamed of or feel bad about. Glamour in a woman is to be celebrated, and we women must celebrate ourselves. Then we can expect other people to celebrate us. But if we look at ourselves in a certain way then nobody can respect us.” She added, “Here we have a wonderful gentleman who does not look at woman like that. He looks at women like divine. Divine can be glamourous, lethal, powerful. A woman can be many, many things.”

Odela 2 is the sequel to Odela Railway Station. It tells the story of the eponymous fictional village. The film portrays how Odela Mallanna Swamy protects his village from evil forces. Tamannaah plays the role of Shiva Shakti, who comes to the village, to fight an evil presence. Odela 2 also stars Vasishta N Simha, Yuva, Naga Mahesh, Vamshi, Gagan Vihari, Surender Reddy, Bhupal, and Pooja Reddy.
