Vijay Deverakonda's last theatrical release was Telugu romance film, Kushi. The film featured him opposite good friend Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The Shiva Nirvana directorial received a lukewarm reaction from audience, earning ₹ 48.26 crores domestically with its worldwide box office collections standing at ₹76 crores. For 2024, the actor has two projects in his kitty, one of which he will reportedly resume shooting for, soon.

Vijay Deverakonda to resume filming for VD 12?

For the unversed, Vijay Deverakonda had commenced filming for VD 12 back in 2023. However, he decided to put a pause on the same, prioritsing the filming for his other project, Family Star. This inadvertently put a pause on VD 12. However, recent reports suggest that the filming of VD 12 will soon be coming back on track.

As per a recent Gulte report. Vijay Deverakonda along side VD 12 leading lady Sreeleela, have both allotted their dates for the film, starting March of 2024. Director Gautham Tinnanuri, best known for his work helming Jersey, was reportedly considering commencing work on a small-budget film in the time that Vijay Deverakonda was shooting for Family Star. However, the focus now appears to have been redirected back to VD 12.

Vijay Deverakonda had halted the filming for VD 12 to start work on Family Star, a film he has almost concluded shooting for. Family Star is being helmed by director Parasuram. The film will star Deverakonda opposite Mrunal Thakur.

 Mrunal was last seen in the Nani led family drama Hi Nanna, which released in December of 2023. The filming for Family Star is currently in its last stage of filming and will be seeing through a release this year itself.
