Who Is Jani Master, National Award Winning Choreographer Accused Of Rape?

Shaik Jani Basha aka Jani Master is a renowned choreographer in the Indian film Industry. Over the years, he has collaborated with big stars including Allu Arjun , Shahid Kapoor, Ram Charan, Vijay Deverakonda, Sara Ali Khan and several other industry veterans. Now, he is facing legal issues as a case of rape has been registered against him. Despite a successful 15-year-long career and a national award win, Jani Master now finds himself at the centre of controversy.

Sexual assault allegations against Jani Master

A 21-year-old woman, who is a choreographer from Narsingi, Telangana, has accused Jani Master of assaulting her multiple times. Following her complaint, the police have registered a Zero FIR.

A senior police officer informed in the matter that the woman claimed that Jani had sexually assaulted her on several occasions during shoots in various cities, including Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. 

She also alleged that he assaulted her multiple times at her home in Narsingi. Since the victim is a resident of Narsingi, the case has been transferred to the local police for further investigation.

This is not the first complaint against Jani Master. In June, a male dancer named Satish accused him of harassment and obstructing new work opportunities. However, Jani Master denied these allegations during a press conference.

Who is Jani Master?

Sexual assault accuse Shaik Jani Basha aka Jani Master was born on July 2, 1982, in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. He began his career as a dancer in Telugu films before landing his first choreography role in the 2009 film Drona.

He went on to work with Ram Charan on the film Racha and continued to collaborate with the actor on several successful projects. He grew his reputation as Jani Master with time as he worked with stars such as Jr NTR, Allu Arjun , Ravi Teja, Pawan Kalyan and Ram Pothineni.

In 2018, he choreographed in the film MLA and also assisted Prabhudeva on the Tamil song Rowdy Baby from Maari 2. He then worked in 2020 with the song Butta Bomma from Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, where the rolling step became a viral sensation.

Jani Master has also worked in Bollywood with his most recent song being Aayi Nai for Stree 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor, and Kaavaalaa from Jailer featuring Rajinikanth and Tamannaah Bhatia.

Over the years, Jani Master has won multiple awards, including the Filmfare Awards, CineMAA Awards, and South Indian International Movie Awards. This year, he won a National Film Award for choreographing the song Megham Karukkatha from the film Thiruchitrambalam. Fans are shocked as he is currently in a roll of accusations.
