Ahmedabad district recorded 157 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 26,341 on Thursday, said the Gujarat Health Department.
Out of these 157 new cases, 143 were from Ahmedabad city and the remaining 14 from rural parts of the district, said a release by the Health Department.
Ahmedabad's death toll rose to 1,593 with five more infected person succumbing in the last 24 hours, it said.
Also, 119 patients undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the district were discharged during the same period following recovery, the release added.
