Here is the scoop:
All seats which were to be given to RLSP will now be given to JDU:
- Sitamarhi
- Karakat
- Jahanabad
Two sitting Lok Sabha seats of the BJP will also be given to JDU:
- Nalanda
- Purnia
All seats on which BJP lost also given to JDU:
- Kishanganj
- Araria
- Madhepura
- Supaul
- Katihar
- Banka
Seats on which BJP won still given to JDU:
- Valmiki Nagar
- Gopalganj
- Darbhanga
- Jhanjharpur
- Aurangabaad
- Munger
The only seat on which JDU and BJP are having a disagreement is of Bhagalpur where BJP lost and according to the formula should be given to JDU but BJP wants to retain it. BJP wants to give Jhanjharpur to JDU instead of Bhagalpur instead.
All sitting BJP ministers will contest:
- Buxar: Ashwini Kumar Choubey
- Arrah: RK Singh
- Sasaram: Lalan Paswan, Niranjan Ram and Shivesh Ram
- Gaya: Ramji Manjhi, Hari Manjhi
- Nawada: Giriraj Singh
- Patna Sahib: Ravi Shankar Prasad, RK Sinha
- Pataliputra : Ram Kripal Yadav
- Motihari: Radha Mohan Singh
- Muzaffarpur: Ajay Nishad
- Saran: Rajiv Pratap Rudy
- Siwan: Om Prakash Yadav
- Madhubani: Hukmdev Narayan Yadav, Ashok Yadav, Nitish Mishra (son of Jagannath Mishra)
- Maharajganj: Janardan Singh Sigriwal
- Sheohar: Rama Devi
- Bhagalpur: BJP and JDU in a fix over the seat
- Ujiarpur: Nityanand Rai
Seats given to LJP:
- Hajipur
- Vaishali
- Samstipur
- Jamui
- Khagadiya
- Begusarai
Republic TV's and CVoter's National Approval Ratings for Bihar for the month of March showed that out of 40 seats, the NDA alliance is expected to win 36 seats. While the UPA is likely to get only 4 seats.
In terms of vote share, NDA is likely to receive 49.4% whereas the UPA is likely to 37.1%, and others are likely to receive 13.6%.
The Election Commission (EC) on Sunday announced the polling dates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, with vote-counting scheduled to be held on May 23.
