Dismissing suggestions that Danish Ali leaving JD(S) for BSP is a setback for his party, Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy has stated that the decision was a 'purely political one', done with the consensus of both the parties.
Taking to Twitter, Kumaraswamy believes it was a well thought out political arrangement between HD Deve Gowda and Mayawati, something which which will benefit in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
"Danish Ali, the JDS General Secretary, has joined BSP in consent with me and our national president Sri HD Devegowda in a purely political arrangement between the two parties. It is a thoughtful political decision taken by #JDS and BSP to win more seats in the Loksabha elections," his message read.
Danish Ali, the general secretary of the JD(S), had on Saturday joined Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), just days after he played a key role in Congress-JD(S) alliance in Karanataka for the upcoming polls.
Citing JD(S)' lack of presence in his birth place - Uttar Pradesh - Danish Ali suggested that his efforts didn't bear any fruits, and hence, he is joining a party which has a massive presence in the state.
"JD(S) doesn't have a large organisation structure in UP. Despite all my efforts, I could not have raised it in my 'janmabhoomi, my 'karmabhoomi'....The way in which there is a threat to constitution today, it has become essential to use our energy with a strong leadership," he said.
He also mentioned that he took this decision keeping JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda in loop, and vowed to put his utmost best for BSP chief Mayawati.
"I never asked for anything even when I was in JD(S), it was upto HD Deve Gowda ji to decide what work to assign me. I have come here after taking the blessings & permission of Deve Gowda ji. I will work wherever Behen ji assigns me," Danish Ali added.
