10 COVID-19 fatalities, 2,381 new cases in Telangana

The surge in coronavirus cases continued in Telangana with the state reporting 2,381 fresh cases, pushing the state's tally to 1.81 lakh.

The toll rose to 1,080 with 10 more people succumbing to the virus, a state government bulletin said on Friday, providing data as of 8 PM on September 24.

Out of the 2,381 fresh cases, 386 were recorded in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), followed by Rangareddy 227, Medchal Malkajgiri 193, Nalgonda 132, Karimngar 119 and other districts.

The cumulative recovered cases stood at 1.50 lakh, while 30,387 were under treatment.

The recovery rate in the state rose further to 82.67 per cent, while it was 81.71 per cent in the country, it said.

The bulletin said 57,621 samples were tested on September 24.

Cumulatively, the number of samples tested was 27.41 lakh.

The samples tested per million population was 73,851, the bulletin said.

The case fatality rate in the state was 0.59 per cent, while it was 1.58 per cent at the national level, it said.
