In Punjab- political equations are being changed every day since Ranjit Singh Commission report against Akali Dal was laid in Vidhan Sabha session. Akali Dal is holding rallies in Punjab by claiming to expose Congress.
On September 14, Faridkot administration refused to give permission for holding the rally and now Akali Dal approached Punjab and Haryana High Court to seek permission for the rally. Following the petition by Akali Dal on September 15, 2018, the HC Bench of Justice RK Jain had directed the state government to allow the Akalis to hold the rally on September 16, 2018.
At the same time, Stung by the HC decision to allow Akali rally at Faridkot, Congress government led by Chief Minister Amarinder government has reportedly decided to file a review plea before the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The government had denied the permission of the rally apprehending breach of law and order situation.
The Faridkot administration on September 14 denied permission to Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) to hold the rally against the Congress government scheduled for September 16 in Faridkot, citing law and order issues.
Meanwhile, SAD patron and former CM Parkash Singh Badal and his son and SAD president Sukhbir Badal dashed to Bathinda to address a press conference in the evening.
“It is the murder of democracy like it was emergency when no one was able to gather to have discussions,” Badal said
Sikh organisations had recently urged the Faridkot administration to deny permission for the SAD rally, which was earlier scheduled to be held at Kotkapura on September 15 but was rescheduled to be held at Faridkot on September 16.
SAD said it had filed a plea in the Punjab and Haryana High Court urging it to quash the order refusing permission to the SAD to hold the rally. The petition is listed for hearing on Saturday, SAD spokesperson Daljit Singh Cheema said.
With HC decision, the Akali Dal claimed that they are basically exposing government's failure and that's why the Congress government is creating hindrance in such rallies.
It may be mentioned here that Ranjit Singh Commission report had changed politics of state and the report denied the pathic image of SAD after SAD has been holding rallies in various district to retain its pathic image whereas Congress had been holding campaign against the SAD saying that SAD had roles in sacrilege incidents and also accused of providing apology to Sirsa Dera chief Ram Rahim. The Congress Local bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu also held the press conference at Amritsar recently seeking action against Badals.
