Anand Mahindra's one-word praise for India's fitting reply to Pakistan

India, using the right to reply at the United Nations General Assembly on Friday, gave a befitting reply to Pakistan PM Imran Khan's 'hate speech'. Hailing India's thundering statement at the UNGA by First Secretary MEA Vidisha Maitra, business tycoon Anand Mahindra has "only one-word" praise. Taking to Twitter on Saturday, Anand Mahindra praised India's reply to Pakistan PM Imran Khan, saying "Only one word: Touché". Read his tweet here:

India's befitting reply to Pakistan

India sent out a strong message to Pakistan after its PM Khan's 50-minute anti-India rant at the UNGA on Friday. First Secretary MEA Vidisha Maitra reiterated India's position on Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that its citizens do not need anyone else to speak on their behalf - "least of all those who have built an industry of terrorism from the ideology of hate", she added. India asserted that Imran Khan's address appeared like a 'hate speech' at the UNGA, adding that words matter in diplomacy. 

"Words matter in diplomacy. Invocation of phrases such as "pogrom", "bloodbath", "racial superiority", "pick up the gun" and "fight to the end" reflect a medieval mindset and not a 21st-century vision," she said.  

India said the world will hold Imran Khan to the promise, after he invited UN observers to inspect the presence of terrorist organisations on Pakistan's soil. The First Secretary MEA further posed a set of questions to Imran Khan asking if the Pakistan Prime Minister would deny to the city of New York that he was an open defender of Osama bin Laden?

Pakistan PM Imran Khan's UNGA speech

In his 50-minute long speech at the 74th UNGA, Pakistan PM Imran Khan not only threatened another 'Pulwama-like' attack, he also fearmongered over the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. While PM Modi used the global stage to reaffirm India's commitment to fight against terror, climate change, Imran Khan exposed his own country's helplessness to counter-terror due to its own corruption. He went onto blame the UN for not interfering in India's internal issue of abrogating article 370. Meanwhile, he did not feel the need to highlight his country's contribution to the world.
