Dr Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam a.k.a APJ Abdul Kalam, one of the most beloved Presidents of India was born on October 15, 1931. An Aerospace Engineer by profession, he spent nearly four decades as a scientist and science administrator, primarily at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation. (ISRO) Marking his 88th birth anniversary today, netizens remember the beloved leader by wishing the 'Missile Man' on Twitter.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, arguably the most loved President of India, was a scientist who made India proud with his missile defence program. Although Kalam's primary profession was a scientist with DRDO and ISRO, he had on several occasions reported that his favourite job was teaching and that's how he wanted the world to remember him. In 2010, the United Nations declared that October 15, the birth date of the 'Missile Man' of India would-be observed as "World Students' Day."
