"Apologise for not just misleading the nation, but also the court", says Kapil Sibal on Rafale

After the Congress accused the government of lying in front of the three-judge bench regarding the pricing details presented in front of them, senior party leader Kapil Sabil has said that the government should apologise "for not just misleading nation but also the court."

"The government is responsible for giving wrong facts to the Supreme Court. I think the Attorney General should be called before the PAC and be asked why wrong facts were presented. This is a very serious matter. 

We have been very clear that Supreme Court was not an appropriate forum on which these issues can be decided, as it cannot summon and examine file notings, witnesses on oath, including questioning the Prime Minister, and we need to question the PM. It is childish of government to congratulate itself that ir has got clean chit on th ebasis of thse And its hould not call the allegations fiction.2G scam also tuned out to be fiction. 

They should apologise for not just misleading nation but also the court. We will not let the matter rest until there is JPC."

Congress has alleged on Saturday that the Modi government misled the topmost court of the country by informing them that Public Accounts Committee (PAC) probed the report of CAG on the pricing issue. Speaking on this issue, PAC head and senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday said,

"Govt lied in SC that the CAG report was presented in the house and in PAC and PAC has probed it. Govt said in SC it is in public domain. Where is it? Have you seen it? I am going to take this up with other members of PAC. We will summon AG and CAG."

On Friday, the three-judge bench of SC, headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi, rejected the pleas of petitioners who had sought investigation and probe into the Rafale deal. The court examined three aspects of the deal, and gave out its keeping in mind those aspects.
