Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah who proudly chanted the national slogan 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' during the prayer meeting for Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was heckled outside the Hazratbal shrine in the heart of Srinagar at an Eid Prayer meeting on Wednesday.

On the same night as the incident happened, Republic TV's editor in chief Arnab Goswami urged the nation to chant the national slogan loud enough and detailed out wy we should shout out 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' loud.

"We should shout Bharat Mata ki Jai because Bharatvarsh is our motherland and saying victory to the motherland is the deepest declaration of our national pride, and there is nothing anti any religion about it," said Arnab Goswami.

Earlier in a one-on-one conversation with Abdullah, Arnab Goswami hailed the former's action stating that the nation supports him.

"...tonight if he says Bharat Mata ki Jai, then we want to know whether all the break India brigade, the ones whose funding is doubtful, whose intentions are anti-national and who hate Bharat, will say Bharat Mata ki Jai too," he said.

Abdullah was heckled by some radical elements outside Hazratbal. As soon as Farooq Abdullah walked into the premises, the hecklers booed at him and even demanded his removal from the Masjid premises. Abdullah managed to offer his prayers with the intervention and help of authorities there, but couldn’t stay for sermon or Khutbah.

In the video accessed, the angry protesters can be seen taking their shoes in their hands while raising ‘Azadi Azadi’, ‘Zakir Musa, Zakir Musa’ and ‘Go back Go back’ slogans, as soon as the senior JKNC leader got up to leave.

This was all sequential to his speech at former Prime Minister Aral Bihari Vajpayee's prayer meeting when he said:

“If you want to remember Atal, then fill this country with so much love, that the world bows at our feet. The world should say that this is the country that spreads the love. That would be the biggest tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee. I hail the country’s soil for giving birth to a person like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and  I am so glad that I got the opportunity to understand this man. I pray to Allah that I should be able to walk on his path and make this country so strong that no one can move it. Come, chant this slogan with me, raise your hands and chant, Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.”
