As India ensures world rallies against Pak, spooked Pakistan begs India for "normalisation of relations"

At a time when the entire nation is shocked at the cowardly terror attack by Pakistan-based terror outfit in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama in which over 40 of paramilitary jawans attained martyrdom, Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal has begged India to for 'normalisation of relations'. Taking to Twitter, Dr Faisal quoted his Prime Minister Imran Khan and said that "Pakistan will take two steps if India takes one for normalisation of ties".

Furthermore, the Pakistani spokesperson also stated that opening Kartarpur corridor was "a step aimed at improving bilateral ties".  In a failed attempt to mount an attack on India, he further wrote that 'India must come out of the denial mode". 

The reaction from the unfriendly neighbour comes after several countries from across the globe stood in support of India in the wake of a deadly terror attack. In the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack, India also revoked the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status that was unilaterally accorded to Pakistan over 20 years ago. The government of India also resolved to isolate Pakistan on the global stage.

Global pressure is building on Pakistan to act against perpetrators of the attack. Despite Chinese reservations, New Delhi has urged the international community to back the naming of JeM leader Masood Azhar as a "UN-designated terrorist". 

Furthermore, the central government on Saturday hiked the basic customs duty on all goods imported from the neighbouring country to 200% with immediate effect. Taking to Twitter on Saturday, Finance Minister Arun Jaitely announced the hike in customs duty and wrote:

Earlier on Thursday, a blast occurred as a vehicle laden with explosives rammed into the CRPF convoy. Soon after the blast, shots were fired at the CRPF jawans. Nearly 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were martyred and many others injured.
