The opposition has gone all-out against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the day when he announced India got its first-ever anti-satellite missile, making it just the fourth country to possess such weapon.

After the Congress and Trinamool, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has targeted the Prime Minister, accusing him of taking the limelight and credit for the work done by DRDO.

Before him, Congress president Rahul Gandhi had mocked PM Modi by calling his address to the nation as an act of 'theatre'.

Trinamool chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee was the loudest critic, calling the recent development announced by the PM as a 'drama'. In a series of tweets, her party alleged PM Modi did this for political gains, and that the party will complain to the EC.

India becomes only the fourth country to have such a satellite in its ranks. Prior to India, only China, the United States of America and Russia had the capability to tackle any kind of space threat.

Addressing the nation, PM Modi had mentioned that this will be a 'game-changer' and that the weapon which the country now possesses is just for its own safety, and not as a show of power against any country.
