Ayodhya Verdict: SIddaramaiah urges people to respect SC judgement

Former Chief Minister and the current Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, Siddaramaiah on Saturday, ahead of the monumental Supreme Court verdict on the Ayodhya Land dispute said that everyone should respect the judgement of the apex court on the matter. He added that everyone should also believe in the constitution framed and maintain peace and harmony, irrespective of the judgement. The Supreme Court is scheduled to announce its verdict in the prolonged case on Saturday at 10:30 am. 

Siddaramaiah urges for peace and harmony

Siddaramaiah on Saturday took to microblogging website, Twitter, to urge the people to maintain peace and harmony ahead of the SC verdict in the Ayodhya land dispute case. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to Twitter, to urge the people to maintain an atmosphere of positivity and accept whatever the Supreme Court's verdict is. PM Modi urged people to not view the decision of SC as a win or loss for anyone and also said that the verdict should strengthen the great tradition of peace, unity, and goodwill of India.

UP CM urges people to maintain law and order

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also appealed to the people of the country to not view the verdict as a win or a loss of anyone in the country and also urged the country to maintain a peaceful and amicable atmosphere after the verdict. He also said that the administration is fully committed to protecting everyone and maintaining law and order in the state. If any person tries to play with law and order, strict action will be taken against him.

Security tightened in Ayodhya 

Ahead of the verdict, security in Ayodhya has been beefed up. So far, 18,000 police officers, 3,000 state Rapid Action Force staff and 4,000 Central forces have been deployed in Ayodhya to maintain law and order. Sources suggest that the forces have been directed by the Uttar Pradesh government to ensure that nobody is allowed to spread any communal message, including political and religious leaders within the State.

According to sources, the State Chief Secretary and UP DGP themselves will be on ground zero to monitor the situation. The District Magistrate will be taking an hourly update directly from the Chief Minister's Office. The affected district and the neighbouring 3 districts will be in a lockdown position. Moreover, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will remain in a 'ready to move' position. Apart from this, 9 helicopters have been arranged for urgent movement basis while 3 separate choppers will be made available for aerial monitoring. Drones will also be used in sensitive areas to monitor any spurious activity.
