Babar Road signboard in Delhi blackened by Hindu Sena activists

The Hindu Sena activists on Saturday blackened the Babar road signboard in New Delhi's Mandi House area. The activists fled from the spot after painting the road signboard. A complaint in this respect has been filed by NDMC for the public property by unknown people. Speaking to Republic TV, Vishnu Gupta, the chief of Hindu Sena said that Sena workers were behind the incident, adding that they were proud of it. "Babar was an invader; no road should be named after it. It should be named after Ram or Krishna. Our workers painted the road signboard black bad I support them," said Gupta.

When asked why they opted for such kind of illegal move, he said that it was the heat of the moment by workers as they didn't like Babar's name. However, he said that nothing wrong was done by his workers. The Delhi Police said that they have made a DD entry in this respect with the Bara Khamba Road Police Station and were taking legal opinion to decide their future course of action. "We don't know who did it. We are told that it was Hindu Sena workers. It is a case of defacing public property so far," the police said.

Meanwhile, Vishnu Gupta said that he will support his workers in the future too if they opt for such a method. He went on saying that it was the need of common people that the name of this road should be changed. The police said as of now it didn't look like an attempt that could create a riot like situation.  "We are taking legal opinion and looking into the matter," the police said. 

This is not the first time when Vishnu Gupta has done this, in the recent past, he was held for creating ruckus at Kerala Bhawan. He made a PCR call that beef was being served in the Kerla Bhawan. Later on, this claim had turned out to be false. Police had detained Vishnu in this connection. Apart from this also slapped Kashmiri Separatist leader Yasin Malik and was detained. He recently wrote a letter to the central government to ban a holy book. And now his workers painted the signboard of a road.
