A software engineer, his home-maker wife, and their two daughters were found dead in their Whitefield division flat in Seegehalli, Kadugodi of Bengaluru. According to the police assessment, the deaths may have occurred on July 31 around midnight. The couple, who were from Andhra Pradesh and had been married for six years, resided on the ground floor of the Sathya Sai Layout apartment in Seegehalli.

According to the police, Vijay first strangled his wife and daughters before hanging himself from the ceiling fan. The bodies of Veerarjuna Vijay (31), his wife V Hymavathi, 29, and their daughters Moksha Meghanayana (2) and eight-month-old Shruti Sunayana, were discovered in their bedroom.

Police stated that they had not discovered a suicide note and that they had not yet determined the man's motivation for acting in such a drastic manner, the PTI reported.

The incident came to light when Hymavathi's brother paid a visit to her Sathya Sai Layout apartment on Thursday. He repeatedly knocked on the door and when no one answered, he grew suspicious and called the police.

"Our team reached the spot and broke open the door. We saw the man hanging from the ceiling fan while his wife and two daughters were found lying on the floor in the living room of the house. We also observed strangulation marks on the neck of the woman and the two children," a senior police official told PTI.

Hymavathi's brother decided to check on the guy and his wife because they had been incommunicado for a few days.
