BJP leader asks Scindia to quit Congress over loan waiver admission

Amid internal tussle within the Congress, BJP's Leader of Opposition in M.P has urged former MP and Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia to quit the party.

Amid internal tussle within the Congress, BJP in Madhya Pradesh has urged former MP and Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia to quit the party. Leader of Opposition Gopal Bhargava has said that if Congress government in Madhya Pradesh has not fulfilled its promise, then Scindia should quit. Speaking to a news portal, Bhargava said, "If Scindia is tired of Congress' unfulfilled promises, then he must leave the party."

Kamal Nath's response to Scindia's loan waiver charge

Reacting to former MP Jyotiraditya Scindia’s criticism of his government’s farmer loan waiver scheme, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, on Saturday, stated that the people trusted "their leader" to keep his promise. Conceding that only Rs 50,000 had been waived off in the first installment, he committed to waiving off the remaining amount in the due course of time. "Next we will waive off upto Rs 2 lakh. I agree that it was a promise of Rs 2 lakh. I believe public trusts their leader," he said to news agency ANI.

Jyotiraditya Scindia exposes loan waiver lie in Madhya Pradesh

Days ahead of assembly polls in the state of Haryana and Maharashtra, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia, on Friday, exposed the unfulfilled promises of the Congress -led-government in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Scindia's comment comes at a moment when the grand old party is facing internal clashes. Scindia too had been in loggerheads with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and had earlier threatened to quit the party. Scindia, while addressing party workers said: "The second thing is that the loan waiver has not been provided. Only 50,000 of the 2 lakh rupees promised as a loan waiver have been provided. The loan waiver should be given to the farmers. We had promised it."

Internal tussle in Congress

There has been infighting within the Congress. While in Haryana there has been a divide, with one group supporting Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the other Ashok Tanwar, in Maharashtra, former Mumbai chief of the party Sanjay Nirupam has revolted openly against the party. A long-drawn tussle has been going on between Nirupam and another Congress leader Milind Deora. Addressing a press conference just a day ahead of Tanwar's resignation, Nirupam said that the Congress party's central leadership is surrounded by sycophants. He had added that Tawar, as well as, former Tripura Congress chief Pradyot Debbarman who resigned recently, also has the same complaint regarding the party. Both Nirupam and Tanwar, earlier, withdrew themselves from campaigning for the party in the upcoming elections. In madhya Pradesh, Scindia has reportedly revolted agianst CM Kamal Nath.
